Triana Butler

Hi! I'm Triana Butler. I'm a radio presenter, broadcaster, and digital creative currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Nice to meet you!

Radio and Podcasts

You might have heard me talking in between the songs on the ACE Radio Network, JOY 94.9, or KIIS 1011, or hosting podcasts like Queer Thinking for Sydney Mardi Gras and LGBTIQ+ Health Australia's The Latest. In 2015, I became the first out non-binary presenter on Australian commercial radio when I joined Melbourne's KIIS 101.1.In 2016, I took KIIS 101.1 Weekends from a 5.2 share (survey 7, 2015) to 5.9 (survey 8, 2016).In 2018, I was nominated for an ACRA for Best Music Presenter (C) for my work with the ACE Radio Network. In 2019, I was part of the team behind JOY 94.9's Sydney Mardi Gras broadcast, which won the 2019 CBAA Award for Best Special Event Broadcast.
In 2020, I co-hosted JOY's Sydney Mardi Gras coverage live from the event.
In 2022, I oversaw JOY 94.9's music library transition from Selector to MusicMaster, curating a core list of tracks to become the JOY daytime playlist back-catalogue, and training relevant staff in how to use the system.I'm currently looking for a role in radio either as a solo music personality, or as a part of a content team, with additional skills in digital and music direction. Can panel.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

A selection of Triana's graphic design work.

Social post for @thesoundof.now, the social account for The Sound of Now on JOY 94.9.
Uses promotional photgraphy of Lola Young by Sophie Jones and typefaces MADE Outer Sans and ZT Talk.
Created using Affinity Designer.

Podcast cover art created entirely on mobile.
Uses an original image, non-AI creative apps, and the free, open-source typeface Sofia Sans.

Social media work for the Melbourne Radio Wars podcast.

When it was revealed Kyle and Jackie O's tagline on billboards in 2025 was Listen Now, We're Behaving, the Melbourne Radio Wars team invited listeners to submit their own ideas for alternative billboard designs. I then edited them to look like the real billboards.
No use of AI (at my end) in these assets.

SUBMIT MUSIC

Triana is always looking for new music to potentially feature on air, add to Spotify playlists, stream over and over, or talk about online.Priority goes to:
- Australian artists
- LGBTQIA+ artists
- First Nations artists
- forward-thinking, ahead-of-the-curve, genre-defying music
- artists who "get" pop music
- artists with a compelling point of view
- artists who followed the instructions on this packet of chips that Popjustice made
- artists who should be on this Spotify playlist
I can't guarantee airplay, but if I love what you do, I'm happy to help get the word out!
